We have been supporting North East Lincolnshire with their area prospectus for over 6 years, taking the site from an area prospectus to a whole suite of tools and resources for learners, tutors and education providers within the North East Lincolnshire Area.
To provide an impartial directory of Education and Training providers in the North East Lincolnshire area, allowing 14-19 year olds to make applications for courses online. The site also needed to incorporate resources for young people on topics such as careers advice, apprenticeships and social matters.
How we did it
As part of the process a Management team was set up to oversee the project and ensure everything was ready in time for the launch date. Representatives from various institutions, each with differing agendas made up the team. As part of the process we listened to each of their requirements and issues and worked together to deliver a solution that suited all.
In addition to producing the online systems, we have also provided marketing and support material to promote the applications. We pulled together all the services available within the company and provided a complete package. Aimed at different audiences we produced a variety of materials including:
- Exhibition Stands
- Leaflets and Posters
- Web Adverts
We also worked with the Lincs2 team to produce a marketing strategy and identify opportunities for promoting the website. We liaised with various agencies and chose advertising space to help increase awareness of the website. The end campaign saw the website advertised on buses, at football grounds and in the local press.
The Lincs2 site continues to go from Strength to strength, further developments have improved the site and it now includes information on Adult learning, higher education and a resource bank for tutors.
The site has an excellent uptake within the area with some of the larger colleges taking a course feed from the site to their own websites and also utilising our MIS integration features.
Learners are engaged with the site and enjoy using it to make their applications, the SEN module means the system is inclusive and allows learners attending non main stream schools to also make their applications online in a way that is specially designed for them.
