One of our most recent projects has seen us develop the brand and promotional material for the new Lincolnshire Wolds Federation website.
LWF approached us to help them rethink their sites, they were running 2 separate sites for the 2 schools within the group and both were outdated and well ready for refreshing. A new fresh design was required that appealed to both parents/carers and learners alike.
The LWF wanted to make the site more exciting with regularly updated sections showing class work alongside the required information for parents on term dates etc. There was a lot of information to include and the site needed to have a simple user friendly CMS to allow staff to keep the site updated.
How we did it
Working closely with the staff at both schools we worked on a site map and content structure that suited both the two schools and the LWF overall.
The site was built in our CMS of choice, Umbraco, this powerful yet easy to use system means the staff can keep the site right up to date, they can easily add content such as newsletters and letters to parents on to the site and also upload photos and video of what the children are currently working on.
The response to the new site has been overwhelmingly positive and the client has been able to make frequent additions and updates to the site right from the word go. The site design combines a bright, fun side for presenting content aimed at the pupils and also a more practical side for delivering important information for parents and carers.
Everything a visitor to the site could need is now easy to find, and the schools got to keep some of their own identity, having an area within the site to put up school specific information and pictures.
